Common M-Codes for Mazak Integrex Machines

We've found it handy to have a quick reference of the M-Codes that are used on our Integrex i250HS machine. Note that there may be other codes available on your machine depending on your build options (ie. lower turret, robot, etc). For further detail on function and syntax, refer to your official Mazak manuals:

Mazak Integrex M-Codes
M-code | Function | Description |
M00 | Program stop | When this function code is loaded, program execution will be stopped and the PROGRAM STOP indicator lamp will light up. At this time, the milling spindle and the turning spindle will also stop rotating. |
M01 | Optional stop | To use this function, select (OPTIONAL STOP]. A function similar to that of M00 will be performed. At this time, the milling spindle and the turning spindle will also stop rotating. M01 will be ignored when [OPTIONAL STOP] deselected. |
M02 | End of program | When this function code is loaded, spindle rotation will be stopped and coolant injection. air blasting and the operation of the oil mist will also be stopped. Finally, the function of the NC unit will be reset tostop all operation. Except in tape operation mode, a function similar to that of M30 is performed (rewind operation). |
M03 | Start of forward milling spindle rotation | (Upper turret side} This function code rotates the milling spindle forward. |
M04 | Start of backward milling spindle rotation | (Upper turret side} This function code rotates the milling spindle backward. |
M05 | Stop of milling spindle rotation | This function code stops the milling spindle whose rotation was started by 11.103 or M04. |
M06 | Tool change | This function code mounts the specified tool in thespindle and returns the tool of the spindle to the magazine. When a tool is specified as the next tool, the tool is prepared at the ATC arm. |
M08 | Flood coolant ON | This function code activates the coolant feed unit to inject coolant from the nozzle. |
M09 | All coolants OFF | This function code turnsoff all machining-related fluids such as coolants and air. M09 must not be preceded by any other coolant command code in the same block. With the YMUK high-pressure coolant specification, pressure selection data will also be cleared. |
M19 | Milling spindle orientation | This function code orientates the milling spindle of the upper turret to a reference angle and stops the milling spindle there. |
M23 | Error detect ON | This function code specifies·exact stopping mode". Refer to the operating manual of the NC unit for further details of tne exact stopping mode. |
M24 | Error detect OFF | This function code cancels M23. |
M30 | Reset and rewind | This function code stops the machine similarly to M02, resets the function of the NCunit, and returns control to the beginning of the program. The PROGRAM HEAD lamp on the NC screen display lights up. |
M48 | Cancellation of M49 | This function code cancels the override cancel function (M49). The override function, therefore. becomes valid. |
M49 | Override cancel | This function code cancels the override command. Therefore. the machine operates with program-specified data. Both the feed override and spindle override functions are canceled. Note: When power is switched on or after emergency stop, the NC is (re)set in the M48 mode. |
M51 | Milling spindle- through coolant ON | This function code activates coolant injection through the milling spindle. |
M98 | Subprogram call | This function code calls up a subprogram. |
M99 | Return to main program | The M99 function code denotes the end of the called subprogram. Execution of M99 returns control to the main program. |
M100 | High-pressure coolant pressure selection 1 | This function code selects the 1st level of high-pressure coolant pressure. (YMUK high-pressure coolant interface. YMC super flow} |
M101 | High-pressure coolant pressure selection 2 | This function code selects the 2nd level of high-pressure coolant pressure. (YMUK high-pressure coolant interface. YMC super flow} |
M102 | High-pressure coolant pressure selection 3 | This function code selects the 3rdlevel of high-pressure coolant pressure. (YMUK high-pressure coolant interface. YMC super flow) |

M120 | Automatic power cutoff | This function code cuts off the main power to the machine when the automatic power cutoff valid/invalid select switch is set to "valid" position. |
M129 | Flood air blast ON | This function code blows out flood air. |
M131 | High-pressure coolant ON | This function code activates high-pressure coolant injection. |
M132 | Milling spindle-through air ON | This function code blows out milling spindle-through air. |
M139 | Heavy tool mode cancel | This function code cancels heavy tool mode. |
M140 | Heavy tool mode ON | This function code specifies heavy tool mode. |
M149 | Magazine rotation | This function code rotates the magazine to index the magazine pocKet specified with T (M)Â in M149TM. |
M163 | Milling spindle- through air OFF | This function code deactivates milling spindle-through coolant or air. |
M169 | Cancellation of M170 | This function code maKes AFC valid. (AFC is usually valid.) |
M170 | AFC cancel | This function code maKes AFC invalid. |
M200 | Turning spindle 1 C-axis connecv Milling mode select | This function code connects the turning spindle to the C- axis and changes the mode to milling. |

M213 | Turning spindle 1 C-axis braKing only | When the turning spindle is connected to the C-aXis, the C- axis remains braKed even if C-axis clamping command M210 is given. |

M215 | Cancellation of M214 or M216 | This function code cancels the M214/M216 mode. |
M216 | Turning spindle 1 C-axis unclamping ignore mode ON | When the turning spindle is connected to the C-aXis, the current status of C-axis control is maintained even if C-axis unclamping command M212 is given. |
M219 | Turning spindle 1 Orientation | This function code orientates the turning spindle to a reference angle and stops it there. |
M231 | TailstocKforward | This function code moves the tailstocKforward. |

M233 | Turning spindle 1 ChucKclamp pressure LOW select | This function code changes thegripping pressure of the turning spindle chucK to a low pressure. |

M244 | Turning spindle 1 Workpiece washing coolant ON | This function code activates workpiece washing coolant injection on the turning spindle side. |
M245 | Turning spindle 1 Workpiece washing coolant OFF | This function code deactivates worKpiece washing coolant injection on the turning spindle side. |
M248 | Parts catcher extend | This function code extends the parts catcher (into the machine). |
M249 | Parts catcher retract | This function code retracts the parts catcher (out of the machine). |
M250 | Spindle speed attainment checK | Confirms Whether the specified spindle speed has been attained. |
M253 | Chamfering OFF | Disables chamfering of threads. |
M254 | Chamfering ON | Enables chamfering of threads. |
M256 | Front door open | When a front door automatic open/close option is provided, this function code opens the front door automatically. |
M258 | Turning spindle 1 ChucK air blast ON | This function code activates turning spindle chucK air blasting. At this time, the turning spindle rotates at about 50 min-'. Air blasting stops after the elapse of the timer-set time. |
M264 | Turning spindle 1 ChucK jaw coolant ON | This function code activates chucKjaw coolant injection on turning spindle side. |
M265 | Turning spindle 1 ChucK jaw coolant OFF | This function code deactivates chucK jaw coolant injection on turning spindle side. |
M266 | Turning spindle 1 Shower coolant ON | This function code activates shower coolant injection on turning spindle side. |
M267 | Turning spindle 1 Shower coolant OFF | This function code deactivates shower coolant injection on turning spindle side. |
M268 | Turning spindle 1 Spindle-through coolant ON | This function code activates spindle-through coolant injection on turning spindle side. |

M302 | Turning spindle 2 C-axis disconnect - Turning mode select | This function code disconnects the C-axis from the turning spindle No. 2 and changes the mocle to turning. |
M303 | Turning spindle 2 Start of forward rotation | This function code rotates the turning spindle No. 2 forward. |
M304 | Turning spindle 2 Start of backward rotation | This function code rotates the turning spindle No. 2 backward. |
M305 | Turning spindle 2 Rotation stop | This function code stops rotation of the turning spindle No.2. |

M508 | Pressing setup | Makes a pressing function effective for delivery of the workpiece from the turning spindle No. 1 to No. 2, or vice versa. |
M509 | Pushing preparation cancel | This function code cancels the pushing function specified by M508. |
M511 | Turning spindle synchronized rotation (master. turning spindle No. 1, slave: turning spindle No. 2} | This function coele enables synchronized rotation of two opposite turning spindles. |
M512 | Turning spindle synchronized rotation (master. turning spindle No. 2, slave: turning spindle No. 1} | This function code enables synchronized rotation of two opposite turning spindles. |
M513 | Turning spindle synchronized rotation OFF | This function code deactivates M511 and M512. |
M540 | TRANSFER mode ON | This function code makes the worl<piece transfer mode (from turning spindle No. 1 to turning spindle No. 2 or vice versa) valid. |
M541 | TRANSFER mode OFF | This function code makes the worl<piece transfer mode (from turning spindle No. 1 to turning spindle No. 2 or vice versa) invalid. |
M542 | TRANSFER BAR mode ON | This function code makes the worl<piece gripping, synchronized rechucking and synchronized cutting-off modes with both turning spindle No. 1 andturning spindle No. 2 valid. |
M543 | TRANSFER BAR mode OFF | This function code makes the worl<piece gripping, synchronized rechucking and synchronized cutting-off modes with both turning spindle No. 1 andturning spindle No. 2 invalid. |
M557 | High-pressure coolant pressure setting cancel | This function code cancels the YMC super flow pressure setting. |
M562 | Balance cut start | This function code enables the operation of the X1-IZ1-axis of the upper turret in tandem with the X2-IZ2-axis of the lower turret. Note: The turret at which this M code (M562) is executed becomes the main side. A move command must be issued from the main side. |
M563 | Balance cut end | This function code deactivates M562. |
M610 | Grinder mode ON | This function code rotates the turning spindle and the milling spindle at the same time andmakes grinder machining function mode valid. At this time, however. the operation of the two spindles is not synchronized. |
M611 | Grinder milling spindle speed set | This function code sets the milling spindle speed for grinder machining. |
M612 | Grinder mode OFF | This function code makes M610 invalid. |
M613 | Mist collector ON | This function code starts the mist collector. |
M614 | Mist collector OFF | This function code stops the operation of the mist collector. |
M619 | Milling spindle orient (Work chuck hanel} | (Upper turret side} This function code orients the milling spindle at a speed specified by parameter RS60. Note: To be used when orienting the worl<chuck hand at a low speed. |
M660 | ISS invalid | This function code disables ISS during automatic operation. |
M662 | Stock model cutting invalid | This function code makes interference check with stock model invalid so that stock model cutting will not be rendered on the 30Â MONITOR display. |
M664 | Machine interference checK invalid | This function code maKes machine interference checK invalid during automatic operation. |
M665 | Machine interference checK invalid cancel | This function code cancels the machine interference checK invalid state during automatic operation. |
M666 | Stoel< model interference checK invalid | This function code maKes interference checK with stocK model invalid. |
M667 | Stoel< model interference checK invalid cancel | This function code cancels the interference checK with stocK model invalid state. |

Coolant injection continues at this time. Note: This mode is retained until a reset, emergency stop, or execution of an M687 command. |
M689 | Waiting of cutting start until the next tool is indexed by ATC (coolant injection stopped) | This function code disables cutting start before the next tool is indexed by ATC because magazine vibration during ATC operation affects the cutting surface quality. Coolant injection stops while the M689 code is effective. Note: This mode is retained until a reset, emergency stop, or execution of an M687 command. |
M699 | Tool after next preparation | Prepares for the tool change command after the next tool change by setting the specified tool at the carrier. |
M703 | Chips removal mode (Forward rotation) | This function code rotates the milling spindle in the forward direction at a speed specified by parameter RS14. (The forward rotation time is determined by parameter TIM78.) |
M704 | Chips removal mode (Reverse rotation) | This function code rotates the milling spindle in the reverse direction at a speed specified by parameter RS14. (The reverse rotation time is determined by parameter TIM78.) |

M838 | Correction update stop | This function code stops reception of thermal displacement correction data. |
M839 | M838 cancel | This function code cancels the thermal displacement correction update stop function specified with M838. |
M840 | Tailstock thrust setup | This function code changes the thrust of the tailstocKto an arbitrary value. |
M841 | TailstocK movement to position 1 | This function code moves the tailstock to TAIL POS.1 specified in the setup data. |
M842 | TailstocK movement to position 2· | This function code moves the tailstock to TAIL POS.2 specified in thesetup data. |
M843 | TailstocK movement to Reverse Position· | This function code moves the tailstocKto the position 50 mm retracted from the current position. |
M844 | TailstocKinterlocK release | This function code allows spindle rotation, regardless of the current position of the tailstock. |
M845 | Cancellation of M844 | This function code cancels the M844 mode. |
M870 | Axis load detection invalid | This function code maKes load detection invalid for the axis specified in thesecond auxiliary code A*.. that follows M870. |
M871 | Axis load detection valid | This function code starts load detection based on data of the axis and table number specified in the second auxiliary code A*-Â Â that follows M871. |
M872 | Axis load detection temporarily invalid | This function code makes temporarily invalid the load detection that has been started by the execution of M871. |
M873 | Axis load detection restart | This function code restarts the load detection that has been stopped by the execution of M872. |
M874 | Overload process selection (NC feed hold) | This function code brings the machine into an NC feed- hold stop when an overload is detected. |
M875 | Overload process selection (NC feed hold & spindle stop) | When an overload is detected, this function code brings the machine into an NC feed-hold stop and a turning spindle (milling spindle) stop. After resetting the NC is set in this mode. |
